In the lead up to National Tree Day on Sunday 28 July, Planet Ark has announced it will be joining forces with long time sponsor Toyota to offer “seedling grant program for community groups that need resources to help green Australia”.
It is a pilot program, so the nuts and bolts are still being worked out, but small and medium businesses could be among the recipients of a seedling bank grant. This represents a positive opportunity to give back to the community and the environment.
Planet Ark says access to seedlings to plant is the biggest hurdle for volunteers on National Tree Day. This grant program aims to alleviate that challenge and help get “boots on the ground” to get planting.
