20 January 2014 — Good Environmental Choice Australia cleaning and paint products have been approved by the Green Building Council of Australia, meaning they can now contribute towards achieving Green Star credits.
Products certified under GECA’s Cleaning Products standard can contribute to achieving credit points to projects being certified under the GBCA’s new Green Star Performance tool.
Products certified under GECA’s Paints and Coatings standard:
- contribute to achieving credit points under the “Reduced exposure to pollutants” credit to projects certified under the Green Star Interior tool
- contribute to achieving credit points as part of the Indoor Environment Quality VOC credit under the Green Star Design and As Built tool
“This is an exciting moment for GECA and its licensees,” said GECA chief executive Rupert Posner. “Many of GECA’s standards are already recognised by the GBCA; helping specifiers working on Green Star projects to achieve more points. Now the important areas of paints and coatings and cleaning products will also benefit Green Star professionals and those looking for recognition under the GBCA’s new Green Star Performance tool.”
