Global building technology firm United Technologies Corporation has bought up the commercial HVAC product sales and commercial service divisions of AHI-Carrier in Australia, which will now be known as Carrier Australia.

The business will be part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, with a release saying the acquisition would mean Carrier Australia would have better access to global Carrier facilities, which would mean โ€œcloser collaboration and even stronger product offerings for customersโ€.

Carrier Australia operates in nine locations across Australia and delivers a range of commercial HVAC products and services.

โ€œWeโ€™re excited about the opportunities this will bring,โ€ Carrier Australia managing director John Sherry said. โ€œFor Carrier Australia, the acquisition will facilitate closer collaboration as well as more direct access to UTC Climate, Controls & Securityโ€™s global resources in terms of products, engineering, sales and marketing initiatives.โ€

The business will also be able to leverage UTC Climate, Controls & Securityโ€™s existing local operations delivered through Chubb Australasia, with Chubb president Mark Brisson saying this would strengthen โ€œthe full range of integrated, innovative and sustainable building solutions for customersโ€.

A benefit for Carrier employees is access to the UTC Employee Scholar Program, which pays for employees to pursue a degree of their choice, regardless of whether it is job-related.
