Suzie Barnett

Suzie Barnett has taken on the role of general manager of Junglefy to coordinate the growth and operations of the business in Australia. Junglefy specialises in โ€œliving infrastructureโ€, designing, installing and maintaining green walls, roofs, facades and podiums.

A former executive director of the Green Building Council of Australia, Barnett has run consultancy Good Marketing & PR with Nicole Smith for three years, and will now report to Hanna Gammon, co-founder of Junglefy.

Barnett said she was inspired by Junglefyโ€™s drive to bring more plants into our cities in order to improve human health and wellbeing as well as increase biodiversity.

โ€œI love the idea of plants being woven into the very fabric of our built environment to create what we call โ€˜living infrastructureโ€™,โ€ she said.

โ€œHaving spent over a decade helping to create and establish the green building movement, I believe Junglefy is a natural extension of that work โ€“ this time amplifying the biological power of plants to clean the air and filter out the toxins we produce every day that are harmful to human health.

โ€œJunglefy has already grown substantially, and has made significant impact on our cities, and I want to help to take it to the next level.โ€

The team is expanding, with landscape architect James Worth becoming the state manager of Queensland.

Barnett is also looking for someone to take on a similar role in Victoria, where there are a number of projects, including an 88-square-metre breathing wall, which will be the largest in Australia.
