The investment appeal of sustainability and energy efficiency is the real winner in todayโs smashed avocado of climate policy. Well, at least the commercial agency said. The latest to up its capability in the sector is Cushman & Wakefield. It appointed Stephen Brammer as its new net zero carbon engineer, which led to a focus on carbon reduction strategies for commercial buildings, sustainability improvements, and helping clients with decarbonisation goals. Brammer has been snared from competitor JLL, where he worked for more than 11 years, including two years as its net zero carbon lead for APAC and five as its director for energy and sustainability. Brammer was also a project development engineer at Johnson Controls and director at Eecology Consulting, where he worked benchmarking and design optimisation for ESG in the mining and construction industry.
Nice work, CushWake!
Hope you caught up with our recent podcast with Liam Wallis, who founded HIP V. HYPE. The company has since flagged that it wants to expand into Western Australia and has appointed Simon Blackwell to lead the new outpost as its associate.
Blackwell is already Perth-based and an environmentally sustainable development advisor to the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance, helping implement a sustainable subdivision framework for eight local councils. He is also a partner and trainer of sustainable urban planning and design at Green Gurus, an education consultancy group focused on sustainability in the property sector, founded by Chiara Pacifici. Blackwell has also been a senior urban planner and urban designer at the planning and design firm Taylor Burrell Barnett for more than nine years and also held a similar position at Cardno Simon, now known as Stantec.
